Planning your Bolivia route?
Add the Bolivian Amazon after La Paz
Most travelers build their Bolivia trip around La Paz, Lake Titicaca and the Uyuni salt flats. The Amazon fits between them: a 45-minute flight from La Paz takes you to Rurrenabaque, and our boat leaves for the lodge the same morning at 08:30.
Two nights are enough for three different trails and a night walk. Three or four nights add the longest hike in the area or a day at Santa Rosa lake.
Nestled right in the heart of the Madidi National Park, the ecolodge gives you the chance to experience the real magic of the jungle and to live close to the natural environment.

This lodge completely exceeded my expectations. The rooms are big and spacious and the beds have very nice nets against insects. The meals were amazing as well. Our guides Ronny and Alejandro were very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. They offer more activities than just jungle walks - there's also night walks, piranha fishing, river tubing, and handcraft making. Keep in mind this is the jungle and there are ticks. One day I found 5 on my body despite using a repellent. So make sure you have a way to deal with themPosted on Google![]()

Posted on Google![]()

Posted on Google![]()

Posted on Google![]()

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at Madidi Jungle Ecolounge and could not have asked for a better experience. Our guide, Alejandro, was simply phenomenal. He is a true expert on the local flora and fauna, and you can instantly feel the passion he puts into his job. While wildlife sightings in the wild are never guaranteed, it was fascinating how he spotted animals from incredible distances and made so many unforgettable encounters possible. We learned a tremendous amount and would book a tour with Alejandro again in a heartbeat—we recommend him 100%. The ecolounge itself offers wonderful food and very comfortable accommodations, making it the perfect place to disconnect and relax for a few days. Every staff member we met was warm and incredibly helpful. When I fell ill on one of the days, Alejandro and the team took amazing care of me. An absolute must-visit!Posted on Google![]()

Amazing experience. Let’s start off with Alejandro- absolute sweetheart. He was so fun and cute and brought good energy every day. We loved his excitement about birds and other animals. The huts were very nice and the bathrooms were very clean. The food was amazing with starters and desserts- they were also very accommodating to dietary restrictions. Highly recommendPosted on Google![]()

Posted on Google![]()

We did a 3D/2N trip in Aug 2026, and thoroughly enjoyed. Our guide Ronnie was excellent, teaching us all about the plants and animals of the jungle, and how the community has evolved from animal hunting to wildlife tourism over the decades. He spoke very clear English. The accommodation was basic but comfortable, we had a queen size bed in our cabin with clean white sheets. The room was quite insect proof and mosquito nets were also provided. There’s no electricity in the rooms - so no fan, lights or hot water - but this is the jungle so that’s part of the adventure. (There is charging available in the dining room in the evenings for phones, cameras, etc). Food was excellent. Booking was easy via web/WhatsApp. Bring LOTS of insect repellent and long sleeve clothes to keep the ticks and mosquitoes away. Overall, a recommended trip!Posted on Google![]()

Posted on Google![]()
