The route

Two steps from La Paz

1. La Paz to Rurrenabaque

By plane from El Alto International Airport, about 45 minutes. By bus, about 13 hours. Rurrenabaque’s airport has been paved since 2010, which reduces cancellations in the rainy season.

2. Rurrenabaque to the lodge

Our boat leaves at 08:30 and takes about three hours up the Beni and Tuichi rivers, through the Bala Canyon. We pick you up at the airport.

Season

When to come

The climate is tropical all year, so the lodge is open every month. The dry season, from April to October, is the most comfortable time for walking and the only time for tubing on the Tuichi. The rainy season runs from November to March.

Macaws are most active at the nesting walls from May to December.
