Cullpana program
Cullpana (also written Kullpana) is a day trip for travelers with little time in Rurrenabaque: the boat ride through the Bala Canyon, the macaw wall at Caquiahuara, lunch at the lodge and an afternoon walk to a salt lick.

Times are a guide. Your guide adjusts the plan to the weather, the river, your arrival time and what your group wants to see.
Rurrenabaque – Madidi National Park – Rurrenabaque
08:30 · Boat from Rurrenabaque up the Beni and Tuichi rivers, through the Bala Canyon. The ride takes about three hours.
10:30 · Stop at Caquiahuara. After a short walk you reach the nesting wall used by red-and-green macaws and other parrots. The best months to see them are May to December.
12:30 · Arrival at the lodge and lunch. In the afternoon, a walk on the Wabu trail to a salt lick, locally called “cullpana”, where animals come for minerals and mud baths: white-lipped peccaries, red howler and brown capuchin monkeys, toucans and guans. Return on the Tuichi trail.
15:30 · Boat back to Rurrenabaque, about two hours downstream.
17:30 · Arrival in Rurrenabaque and transfer to your hotel or the airport.
